The Day Before the Exam
How you handle the final 24 hours can make a real difference to your score. The day before CTET is not the time to learn new topics. Instead, do light revision of your notes and formulas, and trust the preparation you have already done. Cramming new material the night before only creates anxiety and confusion.
- Revise your short notes and key formulas only — no new topics
- Pack your admit card, valid photo ID, and stationery the night before
- Confirm your exam centre location and plan your travel
- Sleep well — a rested mind recalls answers far better than a tired one
What to Carry to the Exam Centre
- Printed admit card (clear print)
- Original valid photo ID (Aadhaar, voter ID, etc.)
- Passport-size photographs if asked
- Ballpoint pen as specified by CBSE
- Reach early — at least 60–90 minutes before reporting time
Do not carry prohibited items such as mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, or study material, as these are strictly not allowed inside the hall.
Smart Strategy During the Exam
CTET gives you 2 hours 30 minutes for 150 questions. That is roughly one minute per question, so time management is everything. Here is a proven approach:
- First pass: Answer all the easy questions you know instantly. Do not get stuck.
- Second pass: Return to medium-difficulty questions that need a little thinking.
- Third pass: Attempt the hardest questions last with your remaining time.
- Attempt everything: Since there is no negative marking, never leave any question blank. Even a guess has a 25% chance.
Managing Exam Stress
Feeling nervous is normal — even toppers feel it. The trick is to channel that energy. Take a few slow, deep breaths before you start. Read each question carefully; many mistakes happen from misreading, not from lack of knowledge. If a question rattles you, mark it and move on rather than losing confidence. Remember that you only need 60% (or 55% for reserved categories) to qualify — you do not need a perfect score. Keep that realistic target in mind and it will calm you down.
